The Pom team is excited to introduce as Editor and Contributing Writer! Lily will be writing about parenting teenagers who think she is the corniest person in existence, and her debut essay for The Pom will appear in your inboxes on Thursday.
Lily is a pop culture and humor writer, whose work you may have seen on Newsweek and in The Belladonna Comedy. Since her first book about music during the Nazi era, she has published a fun one about Angela Lansbury and another one about Weird Al. Her next book is about the Rickroll. Clearly, she has a consistent voice and knows who she is as a person. Her two kids, both teens, think she’s not cool even though she has a Ph.D. in musicology, loves oatmeal, and is planning to dress like Jessica Fletcher at the next Murder, She Wrote festival. They often inspire her humor writing, which appears at Slackjaw and Frazzled, among other sites. She lives in Bakersfield, California where she still uses a Hotmail account that her friend set up for her in college.
Some of her published work includes…
