"I think if you do something poorly for long enough, eventually you accidentally figure out how to do it well."

Definitely the mantra of my life! Loved this!

I remember after our 13th or so unbelievable crisis happened I thought “Wow! Soap operas aren’t really that unrealistic!” It’s all absurd and random and you gotta roll. And that is the wisdom? Freaking out at first is fine. But then you realize you’ve been here before, and you know to what to do. As long as you don’t keep getting back with Sonny, Carly. (I left GH in amber, nobody tell me if they broke up for the 32nd time.)

I always thought I was anxious and incompetent but maybe I was just young? Maybe we're new until we're 40.

You are, indeed, a wise woman, but just wait until you are a grandmother. I loved being a mom of three, but being a grandmother to a 2 and a 4 year old is the best. I think back to all the times I panicked and rushed off to the doctors because one of the three had a fever, cough, fill in the blank ————. As I type this, I just finished dismantling the car seat and scrubbing puke out of it because the two year old apparently gets carsick, but only in my car. No problem! And, I don’t have to worry my head off that she might really be sick and miss preschool tomorrow. A funny read, Kristen. Thank you.

I love that you said "just wait" in a positive way. We young inexperienced moms don't hear enough of that!

I wonder ALL THE TIME if I'll recover from mom-of-three burnout before it's my time to be a fun grandmother, so I love hearing this from a fun grandmother! Thank you for reading.

I moved back to my home town just so I could see the two grandchildren often. I am the luckiest! Enjoy being a mom because it is wonderful. Thank you for your kind comment.

So enjoyed this! Yes, experience is the teacher we are given as the reward from all of life’s traumas!
